Alfredo alla Scrofa and Parmigiano Reggiano celebrate the “National Fettuccine Alfredo Day”

Thursday 7 February charity dinner "Un Gesto d'Amore" with Martina Colombari, Paola Cortellesi and other celebrities. The Consortium attending with the split opening of a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano and a donation

Reggio Emilia, 24 January 2019 – The Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Consortium renews its partnership with the Alfredo alla Scrofa restaurant on the occasion of the IV National Fettuccine Alfredo Day: the event celebrates the original Fettuccine Alfredo, a dish born in the early twentieth century that became famous thanks to the Hollywood silent movie stars Douglas Fairbanks and Mary Pickford.

Celebrations will reach the peak on Thursday 7 February with the charity dinner "Un Gesto d'Amore", born from the collaboration between the Alfredo alla Scrofa restaurant and Every Child is My Child Onlus - the not for profit organisation founded by actress Anna Foglietta. During the dinner, actors and directors the likes of Max Bruno, Martina Colombari, Paola Cortellesi, Andrea Bosca, Paolo Genovese, Edoardo Leo and Vittoria Puccini will talk about the organisation’s project and will entertain the audience.

The Consortium will be the star of two events during the evening: first the ritual of the split opening of the wheel and then the donation of a Parmigiano Reggiano wheel to Alfredo alla Scrofa, a gesture that symbolically renews the collaboration that started in 2015. The Consortium will also make a donation to the activities of Every Child is My Child Onlus.

Parmigiano Reggiano is thrilled to celebrate the IV National Fettuccine Alfredo Day – states Nicola Bertinelli, President of the Consortium – first of all for the charitable purpose of the event, but also because Parmigiano Reggiano is a key ingredient of the original Fettuccine Alfredo. It is incredible to think how the “creaming” can combine the delicious taste of fettuccine, Parmigiano Reggiano and butter in such an amazing dish”.

The Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Consortium has recently produced a video – made by Italia Squisita – on the original recipe of fettuccine Alfredo: https://bit.ly/2RGHSPk
