You can do that with our guided tours to the dairies where Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese is produced: a voyage to the discovery of a true myth, during which you can see our cheese masters at work repeating the ancient gestures to process milk, a very special way to get into the production culture of the area and to discover how a true gastronomic gem is made.
All throughout the year – by booking – you can take part in our guided tours and buy cheese on the spot.

How to book our guided tours
You need to send your request for a guided tour by fax or E-mail to the relevant provincial section office 20-25 days in advance.
Our guided tours can be scheduled from Monday to Friday all throughout the year, except on holidays.
Our guided tours take about 2 hours and all visitors must be at the dairy at 8.00 am to follow the entire process.
Our guided tours are free of charge and can be in Italian or other languages, by agreement with the relevant section office.
The provinces in the production area are the following
- Parma
- Reggio Emilia
- Modena
- Mantua, to the right of the Po River
- Bologna, to the left of the Reno River
