Guided tours of dairies

Are you interested in discovering all about King of Cheese?

Dairies producing Parmigiano Reggiano are waiting to take you on a journey during which you will see our cheese masters at work repeating the ancient gestures to process milk: a very special way to get into the production culture of the area and to discover how a true gastronomic gem is made.

If you are fond of Italian food, you cannot miss the chance of seeing the traditional processing techniques with your own eyes at the Parmigiano-Reggiano dairies!

When can you have the guided tour?

Our guided tours can be scheduled from Monday to Friday all throughout the year, except holidays.

The process starts at 8.00 am and takes about 2 hours. During this time you will see all stages of the productive process. At the end of the visit, in dairies with shop, you can buy the cheese.

Who can visit the dairies?

Seeing the traditional processing techniques is an experience that fascinates adults and kids, for this reason it’s recommended to everyone.

Our guided tours are free of charge and can be in Italian or other languages, by agreement with the relevant section office.

Please send your request by fax or e-mail to the office of the city you have planned to visit, forwarding it at least 20 days  in advance.
