Parmigiano Reggiano a star of Hollywood!

The King of Cheeses wins first place amongst the best-loved products in the Star System kingdom

Reggio Emilia, 28 August 2012 - “Made in Italy” has become fashionable in Hollywood. This was the result of a study by Polli Cooking lab which analysed more than 1,200 Internet sites and 200 food and wine publications to identify which products were most famous and most appreciated by VIPs.
Celebrated by over 44% of the publications and sites analysed, first place goes to Parmigiano Reggiano. The most widely acknowledged features of the products from our peninsula are their typicality, the sense of belonging to a specific territory, taste, and the artisan tradition behind them, all characteristics which our cheese enjoys to the full.

From the film set to the table is a stone’s throw and more and more Hollywood divas are choosing to open restaurants inspired by Italian cuisine. From Lady Gaga’s New York style “Joanna” to the Californian “Buca di Beppo Restaurant” recently acquired by the trio of Stallone, De Vito, and Sheen, there is only one imperative: “Italian-style”. From the furnishings to the background music via frescoes that portray typical landscapes of the Bel Paese, everything is designed to re-evoke our nation.

Il Parmigiano Reggiano “paparazzato” a Hollywood!

On the menu, the most popular dishes are not hamburgers or French fries but Spaghetti alle Vongole, pasta with tomato and basil and Risotto with Parmigiano Reggiano. Rather than the American myth of the ’50s, the style to imitate now is that of genuineness and the passion that characterizes our peninsula, so it seems appropriate to say: “You may want to be Italian, but you were born in Hollywood!”
