Massimo Bottura on the podium of the best chefs in the world

Osteria Francescana, the restaurant run by the famous chef from Modena, moved up the charts of the best restaurants in the world by winning third place

Modena, 3 May 2013 - "My muscles are made of Parmigiano Reggiano and my blood of Traditional Balsamic Vinegar from Modena." It is with this statement that we would like to announce the great achievement reached by the famous chef Massimo Bottura who, with Osteria Francescana, has won third place in the list of the 50 most famous restaurants in the world.

Immense satisfaction for Massimo Bottura who chose to dedicate this achievement to his Modena and Emilia region, as well as to all those who work with passion and commitment to produce excellences such as Parmigiano Reggiano and Balsamic Vinegar.

Massimo Bottura has always been close to the world of Parmigiano Reggiano and, especially after the terrible earthquake that struck the sector, he demonstrated his solidarity by providing information and promoting solidarity sales, buying himself from the damaged dairies the cheese he used to create a great dish: Risotto cacio e pepe, i.e. Cheese and pepper risotto. A recipe that recalls the rice weeders and the country work through the rice, which is cooked in a stock of Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and creamed with the same to bring out its flavour and creaminess. A must!

The ranking of the 50 best restaurants in the world has been drawn up by the more than 900 members of the Diners Club World's 50 Best Restaurants Academy, an association made up of the greatest international experts in gastronomy and cooking.

We wish to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Massimo Bottura and the whole team of Osteria Francescana!
