Parmigiano Reggiano Chef gets underway - Create your own pleasure!

After the success of Parmigiano Reggiano Night – the taste of being together – and of the first date with the Parmigiano Reggiano Academy – the taste of learning-, the Consortium continues its web initiatives with the launch of Parmigiano Reggiano Chef – create your own pleasure.

Reggio Emilia, 17 April 2013 – Today, on April 17 th, the first international gastronomic contest recommended by Parmigiano Reggiano gets underway. The theme chosen to inspire the recipes of Parmigiano Reggiano Chef is SmartCooking, an innovative trend inspired by the adoption of good habits for a better use of food, through the reduction of waste, the rediscovery of forgotten ingredients and the use of leftovers.

Bloggers, foodies, gastronomes and professional chefs are invited to unleash their imaginations to create “sustainable” recipes based on the principles of the “SmartCooking Manifesto”, which starting today, Wednesday 17 April, can be consulted in the online application on the Consortium website and on their Facebook page. Once the recipe has been created, within May 20, it must be shared through the app, filling in the form with the title, ingredients, preparation and references to the history or origin of the recipe and a attaching a picture of the dish. After the deadline for downloading recipes, a jury of expert chefs, belonging to the Chef to Chef EmiliaRomagnaCuochi association, will select the best thirty recipes, which will feature in the brand new Parmigiano Reggiano SmartCooking recipe book.

The Parmigiano Reggiano Chef initiative – said Riccardo Deserti, director of the Consortium, - represents a step forward in our strategy of integrated web communication. Through our latest initiatives we have reached very significant results and having 200,000 friends following us on our Facebook page encourages to create new contents that allows us to interact, offer training opportunities and communicate the value of Parmigiano Reggiano.

Live from the Leoni Restaurant in Bologna together with chef Marcello Leoni, on Saturday April 13, at 11a.m., Parmigiano Reggiano Chef was shown through a Google Hangout conference video that can be viewed on the Parmigiano Reggiano website and on their YouTube channel.
