Gin Mare and Parmigiano-Reggiano unite for the Mediterranean Inspirations competition searching for the best cocktail inspired by the Mediterranean spirit

In Ibiza, seven finalists from around the world will compete to be awarded the prize of best gastrobartender by creating a cocktail and food pairing using Gin Mare and Parmigiano-Reggiano. The prize is a luxury stay in a 5 star hotel and a 3 Michelin star dinner

Reggio Emilia, 27 August 2018 - On Sunday, September 2, the final of the eighth edition of Mediterranean Inspirations will take place at the wonderful Villa Mare in Ibiza. The Gin Mare competition will see seven mixologists from around the world compete to win the first prize, each bartender was tasked with creating a gastronomic inspired cocktail using Gin Mare and Parmigiano-Reggiano whilst representing the Mediterranean values of the brand.  

The finalists, from Italy, Iberian Peninsula, Germany, the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United States and Hong Kong must also present a pairing dish to complement the flavours of the cocktail.  On hand where the team of experts from foodpairing.com enabling the finalists to embrace the the gastronomic links of this unique Gin.  

Italy will be represented by Carlotta Linzalata, the bartender of Piano 35 in Turin who on July 4th won against other seven competitors at La Plage Resort in Taormina. Carlotta earned a place in the final with Utopia and Povron Tonic: as required by the competition, the former a low alcohol drink with a maximum of 25ml of Gin Mare and six ingredients of the competitors’ choice; the latter, a reinterpreted, iconic long drink.

The winner of the competition will be awarded with a gastronomic and sensorial experience with a stay in a 5-star Hotel and  dinner at a 3-star Michelin restaurant.  Besides this, the contestants will also enjoy a series of seminars from some highly renowned specialists during their time in Ibiza while enjoying our in house Chef´s banquet.

Made with raw materials of the highest quality and the result of meticulous craftsmanship, Gin Mare holds in its bottles a mixture of botanical elements typical of the Mediterranean including Italian basil, thyme from Greece, rosemary from Turkey, Spanish citrus and Arbequina olives.
