Parmigiano Reggiano at Cibus 2014

The Consortium's 80th anniversary, tastings, web initiatives and much more will welcome you at the stand of Parmigiano Reggiano (Pav. 2, Stand B0014) at Cibus, the International food exhibition, to be held in Parma from 5 to 8 May 2014

Parma, 30 April 2014 - The Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Consortium will welcome you at Cibus, the International food exhibition to be held at the Exhibition Centre of Parma from 5 to 8 May 2014.  Various events, celebrations and tastings will animate the stand (Pav.  2, Stand B014) and will accompany industry experts, food bloggers and journalists in a journey into the world of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese.

Monday 5 May

  • 2:30 p.m. - Ancient knowledge, unique flavour: the Consortium's 80th anniversary
    Event dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the foundation of the Consortium with the contributions of some historical dairies and the cutting open of a wheel of Parmigiano Reggiano
  • 7:00 p.m. - Parmigiano Reggiano encounters beer
    Guided tasting of Parmigiano Reggiano paired with beers of the brewery Vecchia Orsa from San Giovanni in Persiceto (BO)

Tuesday 6 May

  • 11:00 a.m. - Energy for health: nutritional aspects of Parmigiano Reggiano
    Special guests will be Prof. Barbara Pampaloni, biologist and nutritionist of F.I.R.M.O - Raffaella Becagli and Michele Pontrandolfo Foundation, polar explorer.
  • 2:30 p.m. - Parmigiano Reggiano Academy: the value of sensory characteristics for its use in the kitchen
    Presentation of the initiative of sensory analysis on the web and cooking show with chef Christian Broglia of Alma International School of Italian Cuisine (Colorno, PR)

Wednesday 7 May

  • 11:00 a.m. - Parmigiano Reggiano: art not only at the table
    Special guest will be Francesco Pignalosa, engraver and sculptor of Parmigiano Reggiano
  • 2:30 p.m. - Parmigiano Reggiano Chef 2014
    Presentation of the web initiative and cooking show with chef Daniele Zennaro of the Vecio Fritolin Restaurant in Venice

Thursday 8 May

  • 11:00 a.m. - I am what I eat: food education in schools
    Presentation of the food education in schools project organized by the Consortium in collaboration with the Creativ cooperative. During the meeting a tasting of Parmigiano Reggiano paired with fresh fruit will be offered

During the first three days of the exhibition, special guests at the stand of the Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese Consortium will be Fede and Tinto, (Federico Quaranta and Nicola Parente) who will host the radio programme "Decanter" (Rai Radio Due, from 12:50 to 1:30 p.m.) and will give voice to the events and news of Cibus 2014.
